Mexico - San José del Cabo - May 2025

This was a "quick" trip to Southern Baja California, Mexico. Everyone says "Cabo", which typlically refers to Cabo San Lucas (which I personally dislike), but we like to be near San José del Cabo, Mexico (the other Cabo). This trip we stayed at Olas Del Mar (next to Costa Azul) in a nice condo that we rent direct from the owners. They are super cool!

This trip was to celebrate Spencer (our oldest son) graduating from Utah Valley University this Summer in 2025 and Ally (Spencer's wife) and I share a birthday (well almost the same day).

Our 4 favorite restaurants in San Jose del Cabo are: Flora Farms, Taqueria Mexico, El Toro Güero, & La Lupita Taco & Mezcal.

Cabo trips are full of great food, surfing, fishing, diving, the beach and good times.

On a side note some travel tips if you are going to San Jose del Cabo, Mexico

• You fly into San Jose del Cabo (SJD) for the most part, not San Lucas. The airport is a little ways outside of town.

• If you rent a car, make sure you get the Mexican insurance (you will not be insured without it - don't risk it unless your goal is to end up in a Mexican jail.) We love Cactus Rent a Car, everything is included and they give you an "out the door" price!

• There are many nice hotels, but you can also rent places direct and through AirBnB, etc.

• The US issues travel warnings all the time, but I have been coming here for years and if you stay out of trouble you will most likely avoid any trouble.

• Food and amenities are available everywhere.

• The ocean is dangerous here so be careful

• Surf and Fishing are world class here!

• Don't forget to walk around the plaza in downtown San José del Cabo.

• It is Mexico, so use filtered water!
